30,000 Page-Views... Thank you to all!

I am very pleased and grateful that this music blog I created nearly a year ago has now reached nearly 30,000 page views. Thank you to all who have viewed and followed along with these posts.

When I started this blog I had no idea that there would be so much genuine interest from all over the world from so many focused and serious composers.

I would also like to thank my many new mentors, colleagues and friends who have welcomed me into the fold here in Los Angeles since my arrival several years ago and I look forward to my professional future here.

Collaboration Quartet (Movement III - Update)

There has been a change in the composer line-up of the Collaboration Quartet due to unforeseen professional circumstances.

Stellita Loukas has graciously bowed out due to a new film gig and congratulations to her!
She was very kind to help introduce me to the new composer for the quartet's third movement.

The new composer will be Buga Lopes from Portugal and I am grateful to have him on
board and I look forward to seeing and hearing his composition of the third movement.

Here is a link to learn more about this wonderful composer:

Thank you for your patience regarding this project for it obviously has numerous logistic
and scheduling considerations to accommodate.

The Real Deal (Sketches)

I recently noticed on social media several notable composers commenting on the pros and cons
about sketching... so I thought I would post a handful of these type sketches from many popular film composers for others to see what they look like.

These sketch sheets are not complete cues out of respect for each composers hard work and

legacy. They are only intended to demonstrate the personal preferences, layout and formatting
style for each of these wonderful composers.
I picked as wide a variety of examples as I could find in my personal library and I hope you will
find them as beneficial as I have.

The various sketches below are taken from John Williams, Randy Newman, Ferde Grofe, Carl Stalling, Miklos Rozsa, Wojceich Kilar and Victor Young. They are presented in random order... Enjoy!
